Be YOU

It was brought to my attention last Friday by almost everyone who knows me that I was dressed up and how nice I looked wearing this outfit.
No I do not dress up everyday, no I do not wear make up everyday, no I do not wear heals everyday. I should I? I can wear heals I just don't like to so why would I put myself through my feet being so sore that I can barely walk because most heals put to much pressure on the screws in my feet. I like to wear my boots and either a ball cap or one of my cowboy hats because I don't have time to get up and do my hair in curls or straighten it everyday, Yes I have frizzy hair, I really don't care what it looks like I put it in a braid and go on with my day. Yes I have boobs so pretty much any shirt I wear with anything other than a tshirt they show people get over it I'm not going to spend my life in turtle necks just to please others. It shouldn't matter what I wear, whether I am in boots, jeans, long sleeve shirt and a hat ready to go out and work or in a dress and heals ready to hit the town with the girls. I can go from boots to heals in 5 minutes or take two hours getting ready. It is not about what you wear it is about how you present yourself. Be Confident. Be Courageous. Be YOU.

Here are just a few pictures of me dressed up and some are of me working. I feel beautiful in every single one of these pictures. This is who I am. I am strong, independent, beautiful, confident, and ready to conquer the world one day at a time. Just remember to be YOU.

So Lets Talk Technology

I would just like to say that I think that we as Americans are too dependent on Technology specifically our cell phones that was made abundantly clear to yesterday when I dropped my phone off my desk and shattered the screen...I was devastated I mean I could still use it but there was bits and pieces of glass coming out every time I touched the screen, so I went to the Verizon store and did an insurance claim and a new phone was on its way for delivery the next day. I remember the days of no cell phones and even more I remember when I wasn't so dependent on it even when I have one it is crazy how the times have changed. I used to live entire summers without my cell phone and now I feel as though there are times I can't go the entire day without checking my cell phone. I would challenge you to put down your cell phone for one day turn it off tuck it away somewhere in your house where you wouldn't touch it. Could you do it??? No, me neither anymore How about an hour?  Now this I could handle. So turn it off tuck it away and dont look at your phone for an hour and actually have a conversation with someone I mean a real face to face conversation you would be surprised at how much you can learn about someone or how much more you can get out of a conversation when its face to face rather than over email or text message. So go out have lunch with an old friend, a sibling, your spouse, your parents, your kids, someone, anyone and don't look at your phone the whole time your out with them. You will have a great time, and not even think about your phone once you get a conversation going.

These are just some things to think about in our crazy technology dependent lives...
Sitting in class all on our cellphones not even paying attention...

No cellphone Service to be seen in miles around..look at how much fun we were having and how much more we were connected to each other.

Oh the memories of 2015

I have been really bad about posting on here it was my new years resolution last year to keep a blog and post once a week to keep my friends and family updated on my adventures here in the great state of Wyoming...Well you may be able to see how well that went hahaha I'm not going to make it a new years resolution this year but I am sure going to try to post on here more than I did last year.

Here is a little recap of what you all may have missed.

I started working for the Post Office here in Riverton in January it has been a really great year working there. I have worked in Riverton and in June I got a promotion and moved out to my little Post Office in Kinnear, where I have gotten to know many of the people and love working out there with them.

At the end of February I did my window clerk training where I spent a week in Casper. I met some really nice people who work for the post office from all around the state and had a really great time spending the week in Casper. I also took a weekend and went to Cutbank, Montana and got to see some of my really great friends from Yellowstone, I wish that I could see them more often. I also got Spuddy for driving Ray to his new job outside of Billings, Montana. He is such an awesome dog.

SPUDDY the best damn dog ever!
In May as I usually do I went to the Jordan Valley Big Loop Rodeo.  It was great to see those who I typically only see at Jordan Valley. It was great weekend filled with fun, drinking, food, dancing, and friends who are more like family.

July I visited my home state of Oregon for a week with my entire family in one house let me tell you my parents three bedroom house is so not big enough for all eleven of us. I did have a good time getting to see my nieces and nephews who I hadn't seen in almost a year oh and my brother and sister and their spouses. I didn't get to spend near enough time with any of them. I also got to see Bobby and Morgan get married I was so excited that I was able to make it and be apart of their big day.
Michelle and I at Bobby and Morgans Wedding

When I was travelling back through Idaho on my way home Ray and I swapped dogs he got Spud back and I got the Coon Dog(as we call her) aka Cooney. As sad as I was to give him back it was for the best and now I have Cooney who has turned into a pretty damn good dog too however we all still miss Spud, we have had great adventures with Cooney from hiking to riding to road trips she is always with me and there when I need her.
Hiking in the hills with Cooney

Driving around with Cooney

All together this has been a pretty good year full of friends, family, and animals. I wouldn't change anything that has happened this year. It was has definitely been a year of ups and downs but who's wasn't and I look forward to what 2016 may bring me.Bring on the New Year!!

New Jobs

I have recently started a new job at the Post Office here in Riverton. It has been awesome, tiresome, and very time consuming but I am loving every minute of it. My schedule so far has mostly been working at 2am Monday through Friday and working in the evening on Saturdays. On top of working at the post office I also work at the StocDoc as a Vet Tech Assistant Thursdays and Fridays after I get off work at the Post Office. So I basically have no life; I eat, sleep, and work. Next week for the Post Office I am going to Casper all week to get window clerk trained. Overall Wyoming has been treating me GREAT.

Before I started at the Post Office a very good friend came to visit me, which is the first person to come visit me since I moved here and it has great to see someone from back home and be able to show him around town and where I live now. I cant wait for when my family comes to visit in a couple months to be able to show them around town and where I have been living for the last six months.

Hopefully I will have more time and more adventures to be able to share with everyone, until my next adventure (probably my week in Casper)....

Oh Car Problems

For those who know me, know that I know nothing about cars and only recently found out that when it gets below zero that you have to plug in your car so that it stays warm and will start the next morning big shock to me since I have never lived somewhere where it gets below zero on a regular basis. Any way the battery in my truck was an older battery so after the night that I plugged it in and it still didn't start I went out and bought a new battery which my friend graciously installed for me since I had no clue how to do that. After he fought with installing it, we proceeded to fight with the truck to getting it to start for the last five days so today I youtubed how to replace a car battery took the battery back just to be told that the battery was fine and they wouldn't replace it so I brought it back reinstalled the battery with some help moved some wires for a better connection and it turns out the ground from the battery to the engine needed to be grounded better. Thank goodness for youtube I would never have figured out how to take it out or put it back in if not. So now I officially can replace a car battery if need be...You learn something new everyday

To The New Year

The New Year brings new adventures, new experiences, new jobs, and new people. I recently took the biggest step in my life after graduating from college in June I moved to Wyoming. I originally moved here to work in Yellowstone National Park for the summer taking out trail rides and driving teams with stagecoaches and wagons. I loved every minute of my time spent there, I met a lot of really great people. After my summer came to an end I loved the area so much that I decided to stay in Wyoming and what a roller coaster it has been looking for a job, traveling back to Oregon to see my family and friends, getting a job in Idaho and having to travel back and forth for a couple of weeks from Wyoming to Idaho. I finally found a couple of jobs one of which I have not started yet so that will be the first fun new adventure of the new year.

Some Goals for the New Year:

  • Start my new job with the US Postal Service
  • Work on writing in this blog regularly
  • Start paying off Student Loans
  • Move into my own place
  • Start practicing roping
  • Become a better rider
  • Setting monthly goals
Now these aren't resolutions but some goals. I have learned the importance of setting goals for yourself. So here is to the New Year everyone make some goals for what you want to accomplish for the year or for the month.
